Søren Solkær Starbird is a Danish photographer based between Copenhagen and London. He enjoys travelling and has shot all over the world. Søren is regularly commissioned for major music campaigns - for artwork and worldwide marketing purposes as well as press campaigns. He has recently shot The Dead Sixties, Mark Ronson, Tiny Dancers and The Good , The Bad and The Queen collaboration, The White Stripes and The Raveonettes for their Record labels. Søren is commissioned by Q magazine for many of their major artist shoots and covers including their prestigious Awards issue. Other highlights have included photographing Oasis in Argentina, The Killers in Canary Wharf, The Arctic Monkeys on tour, Bjork in London and Michael Stipe with Rufus Wainwright in Dublin for the recent Writers cover as well as The White Stripes at Carters Steam Fair in Victoria Park. Søren also works regularly for GQ Magazine - recent shoots include an iconic image of The White Stripes in a diner in Nashville and a styled session with Duran Duran as well as Boris Johnson in a helicopter! Søren's portrait and lifelstyle portfolio continues to develop and he has shot several campaigns for Scandinavian fashion labels including Jack and Jones and Levis in Denmark and is about to embark on a project involving Swedish jeans label Nudie and Amnesty International. Alongside his commercial successes Soren has continued to concentrate on the artistic side of his photography with solo exhibitions at galleries in Prague, Copenhagen, Chicago, Cologne and New York. His last major show 'Beat City' was shown in a high profile Copenhagen gallery with a book of the same name published to coincide. As a result Soren has become something of a celebrity in his native land!
